DAY MASTER · LOVE STYLE

Your Day Master is a starting point, not a relationship sentence.

In Saju, the Day Master is the character associated with the day you were born. It is often used as shorthand for how you approach the world—and, by extension, closeness.

Technically, it is the upper character of your day pillar: one of ten Heavenly Stems, each carrying an element and a polarity. Five elements — wood, fire, earth, metal, water — each appear in a yang and a yin form, which gives ten. In Korean they are 갑, 을, 병, 정, 무, 기, 경, 신, 임, 계.

It is tempting to turn that into a personality label. Doing so loses the useful part. A chart is a whole arrangement, and a person is more than a chart. The value of a Day Master lies in the question it opens: what kind of care feels natural to you, and what kind of care do you struggle to receive?

The ten Day Masters in love, briefly

Read these as opening descriptions to test, not as conclusions. Any of them can be wrong about you, and the useful moment is noticing which part lands.

Use it to notice, not to diagnose

The productive way in is behavioral. Look at the moments you overfunction, go quiet, chase certainty, or pull back. Which situations bring out those responses? What would repair look like if you named the need underneath?

Those questions do more work than deciding that an element makes you compatible or impossible. A Day Master can suggest where to look. It cannot tell you what you found.

Where the pattern usually started

Most of what shows up in adult relationships was useful somewhere first. Someone who reads a room before speaking usually learned that in a room where reading it mattered. Someone who handles difficulty alone usually learned that asking did not reliably work.

This is the point where a chart and relationship psychology describe the same thing in different vocabulary. The chart names a tendency; attachment and coping research describes how tendencies get built and what changes them. Neither is a verdict, and both are more useful when they point at a specific scene rather than a personality summary.

Three questions for your next relationship conversation

  1. When I am stressed, do I ask for closeness, space, reassurance, or control?
  2. What small action makes me feel cared for rather than merely managed?
  3. After conflict, what observable change would help me trust repair?

What a Day Master cannot do

It cannot rank partners, predict whether a relationship lasts, or explain another person's private motives. It is one of eight characters in your own chart, and your chart is one of two in any relationship. Anyone offering a compatibility verdict from a single stem is selling a shortcut that the tradition itself does not support.

A free calculation can introduce your Day Master. A fuller reading connects it to attraction, conflict, boundaries, and commitment—without claiming to predict the future.
